J. Brian Hill

POSITION

Brian Hill has been the Partner In Charge of the Idaho Falls office of Rudd & Company for the past several years. He has primary responsibility for the Retirement Plan Administration Services of the firm, as well as overseeing the firm's income tax consulting and compliance practice.

 

EDUCATION

Brian graduated from Madison High School and Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He then attended the Institute of Professional Accountancy at Brigham Young University, and in 1981 graduated summa cum laude with both Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy degrees (with an emphasis in taxation). He was named Outstanding Professional Accounting Student of the Year by the faculty of the University, and received the Elijah Watts Sells Award from the AICPA for receiving scores of high distinction on the CPA exam.

 

EXPERIENCE

Upon graduation, Brian joined the tax department of the Salt Lake City office of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche). During his two years with DH&S, Brian received extensive training in many areas of tax planning and compliance. Brian joined the Idaho Falls office of Rudd & Company in the fall of 1982, where he has concentrated his efforts in the areas of income taxes, financial planning, and retirement plans. In 1986 he completed the requirements for the designation of Certified Financial Planner®. He became an owner of the firm in 1988.

 

ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITY

Brian is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Idaho Society of CPAs, and the Institute of Certified Financial Planners. He has served as president of the Eastern Idaho Estate Planning Council, and as president of the Idaho Falls Country Club.

 

FAMILY

Brian and his wife, Renee, live in Idaho Falls with their four sons, Austin, Derek, Logan, and Zachary. They enjoy golf, skiing, camping, and other outdoor activities.
