Scott was raised in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. He graduated from and completed his education training at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. While attending Utah State University, he was an active member in the national accounting fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi. After graduation, Scott completed his CPA examination and became licensed in the State of Idaho.

Scott returned to Idaho and joined Rudd & Company. His primary work emphasis is within the firm's audit department where he specializes in governmental entities. Scott has worked closely with many of the local school districts, cities, and other government entities the firm serves.

Scott enjoys sharing his experiences with young people interested in the accounting profession. He has made several presentations at various local schools and Ricks College to help in the educational and career pursuits of the area youth.

Scott and his wife, Holly, and their three children live in Idaho Falls.
